Day 1: Arrival in Kochi – Munnar
Arrive at Kochi Airport or Railway Station and drive towards Munnar. Enjoy the changing scenery as the route climbs into the Western Ghats, passing spice plantations, green valleys and waterfalls. Stop at Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls if conditions permit. Reach Munnar and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 2: Munnar Sightseeing
Explore the refreshing landscapes of Munnar with visits to Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake and scenic tea plantation viewpoints. Depending on operating hours, visit the Tea Museum to discover the story behind the region’s famous tea industry. Spend the evening relaxing amid the cool mountain surroundings. Overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 3: Munnar – Thekkady
After breakfast, travel towards Thekkady through winding roads and spice-growing countryside. Check in to your hotel and later explore a spice plantation to learn about cardamom, pepper and other regional crops. You may also enjoy optional boating or attend a Kathakali or Kalaripayattu performance, subject to availability. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
Day 4: Thekkady – Kumarakom
Leave the hills behind and continue towards Kumarakom, beautifully positioned along Vembanad Lake. After check-in, enjoy the calm backwater setting and spend the afternoon at leisure. Depending on time and interest, visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary or enjoy an optional local boating experience. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
Day 5: Kumarakom – Alleppey Houseboat
After breakfast, proceed to Alleppey and board a traditional Kerala houseboat. Cruise through a network of canals and waterways framed by coconut palms, paddy fields and waterside villages. Relax on board and watch everyday backwater life unfold along the shores. Overnight stay on the houseboat in Alleppey.
Day 6: Alleppey – Kovalam
After breakfast, disembark from the houseboat and travel south towards Kovalam, one of Kerala’s best-known coastal destinations. Check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing near the beach. Enjoy the sea breeze and a leisurely evening along the coastline. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
Day 7: Kovalam – Thiruvananthapuram Sightseeing
Today, explore the highlights of Thiruvananthapuram and its surroundings. Visit selected landmarks such as the Padmanabhaswamy Temple area, museums and cultural attractions according to timings and entry regulations. Later, return to Kovalam and spend your final evening enjoying the beach and coastal atmosphere. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
Day 8: Kovalam – Thiruvananthapuram – Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Thiruvananthapuram Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. Your Kerala Highlights Tour concludes with memorable experiences of Munnar’s tea hills, Thekkady’s spice country, tranquil backwaters and Kovalam’s tropical coastline.
