Day 1: Guwahati – Shillong
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and begin your journey towards Shillong. Stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake en route to admire the peaceful reservoir surrounded by green hills. On reaching Shillong, check in to your hotel and relax. Later, explore Police Bazaar and enjoy the lively local atmosphere. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji
After breakfast, travel through the scenic Khasi Hills towards Cherrapunji. Visit Elephant Falls and selected viewpoints along the way before exploring Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave and Eco Park. The combination of cliffs, caves and waterfalls makes this one of Meghalaya’s most scenic regions. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 3: Cherrapunji – Nongriat Living Root Bridge
Set aside the day for an adventurous trek to Nongriat village and the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Descend through lush forests, small villages and suspension bridges before reaching this remarkable example of traditional Khasi ingenuity. After enjoying the surroundings, trek back to the starting point. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 4: Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong – Dawki
After breakfast, leave for Mawlynnong and explore its peaceful village surroundings. Visit a nearby Living Root Bridge before continuing towards Dawki. Spend time beside the beautiful Umngot River and enjoy an optional boat ride when conditions are suitable. Later, proceed to the Dawki or Shnongpdeng area for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Dawki – Jowai
Wake up amid the serene landscapes of the Meghalaya–Bangladesh border region and continue towards Jowai in the Jaintia Hills. En route and around Jowai, explore selected natural attractions such as Krang Suri Waterfalls and scenic countryside, depending on time and accessibility. Enjoy a quieter side of Meghalaya away from the major tourist centres. Overnight stay in Jowai.
Day 6: Jowai – Shillong
After breakfast, spend some more time discovering the natural beauty of the Jaintia Hills before driving back to Shillong. On arrival, check in to your hotel. The evening is free for shopping, café hopping or exploring the markets for local handicrafts and traditional products. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 7: Shillong Local Sightseeing
Discover Shillong with visits to Ward’s Lake, Don Bosco Museum, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, Shillong Peak and other attractions depending on available time. Enjoy panoramic hill views and learn more about the culture and traditions of Northeast India. Spend your final evening in Meghalaya at leisure. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 8: Shillong – Guwahati – Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Enjoy the final journey through Meghalaya’s green hills before continuing to your onward destination.
