Day 1: Guwahati – Bomdila
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and begin your journey towards Bomdila. Leave the plains of Assam behind as the route gradually climbs into the green hills of Arunachal Pradesh. On reaching Bomdila, check in to your hotel and relax. If time permits, visit the local market or enjoy the surrounding mountain views. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 2: Bomdila – Dirang
After breakfast, visit Bomdila Monastery and spend some time experiencing the peaceful Buddhist atmosphere of the town. Later, drive towards Dirang, a picturesque valley destination surrounded by mountains. On arrival, explore Dirang Dzong, the local monastery and nearby village areas depending on available time. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Day 3: Dirang – Sela Pass – Tawang
Today, travel along one of the most scenic sections of the journey. Drive towards Tawang via the spectacular Sela Pass and stop beside the beautiful Sela Lake. Continue to Jaswant Garh War Memorial and visit Nuranang Falls near Jang if road and time conditions permit. Reach Tawang by evening and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4: Tawang Monastery & Local Sightseeing
Spend the day discovering Tawang’s spiritual and historical landmarks. Visit the magnificent Tawang Monastery and explore its prayer halls and serene surroundings. Continue to the Tawang War Memorial and selected local attractions before spending some time at the market for handicrafts and souvenirs. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5: Bum La Pass – Sangetsar Lake Excursion
Set out for a high-altitude excursion towards Bum La Pass, near the India–China border, subject to special permits and suitable conditions. Visit the scenic Sangetsar Lake, also known as Madhuri Lake, and enjoy views of other mountain lakes along the route where accessible. Return to Tawang after an adventurous day in the Eastern Himalayas. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 6: Tawang – Bomdila
After breakfast, check out and begin the return drive towards Bomdila. Cross the beautiful mountain landscapes around Sela Pass once again, with short scenic stops depending on weather and road conditions. Arrive in Bomdila by evening, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed final evening in Arunachal Pradesh. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 7: Bomdila – Guwahati – Departure
After breakfast, leave Bomdila and drive back towards Guwahati. Watch the scenery transform from Himalayan hills and valleys to the plains of Assam. On arrival, transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, concluding an unforgettable journey through Bomdila, Dirang and Tawang.
