Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and begin your journey towards Bhalukpong, the gateway to western Arunachal Pradesh. Enjoy the changing scenery as the route moves from Assam’s plains towards forested Himalayan foothills. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax in the peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay in Bhalukpong.
Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang
After breakfast, drive towards Dirang through beautiful valleys, mountain roads and small settlements. On reaching Dirang, check in to your hotel and later explore attractions such as Dirang Dzong, the local monastery and scenic village surroundings as time permits. Enjoy the cool mountain atmosphere in the evening. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Day 3: Dirang – Sela Pass – Tawang
Continue deeper into the Eastern Himalayas as you travel towards Tawang. Cross the spectacular Sela Pass and stop beside Sela Lake for beautiful mountain views. Proceed to Jaswant Garh War Memorial and, if road and weather conditions allow, visit Nuranang Falls near Jang. Reach Tawang by evening. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4: Tawang Monastery & Local Sightseeing
Spend the day discovering Tawang’s Buddhist heritage and historical landmarks. Visit the magnificent Tawang Monastery, followed by the Tawang War Memorial and selected nearby attractions. Later, explore the local market for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs or simply enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 5: Bum La Pass – Sangetsar Lake
Today, head towards the high-altitude landscapes around Bum La Pass, subject to special permits and suitable road conditions. Visit Sangetsar Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake, and admire other scenic mountain lakes along the route where accessible. After experiencing the dramatic Himalayan terrain, return to Tawang. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 6: Tawang – Bomdila
After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Bomdila. Travel once again through the beautiful landscapes around Sela Pass, stopping at scenic points whenever conditions permit. Arrive in Bomdila and visit Bomdila Monastery if time allows. Spend the evening enjoying panoramic views and the calm atmosphere of this hill town. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 7: Bomdila – Guwahati
Leave Bomdila after breakfast and descend from the Himalayan hills towards Guwahati. Enjoy the long scenic drive through valleys, forests and countryside. On arrival, check in to your hotel. If time permits, explore the Brahmaputra riverfront or enjoy an optional evening cruise. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 8: Guwahati – Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Depending on your departure schedule, you may visit Kamakhya Temple or enjoy some last-minute shopping for local products. Later, transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, concluding your memorable Arunachal Himalayan adventure.
