Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Gateway to Assam
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and transfer to your hotel. After settling in, begin with a visit to the sacred Kamakhya Temple. Later, explore the Brahmaputra riverfront and enjoy an optional sunset cruise if available. The evening is free to experience local markets and Assamese cuisine. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 2: Guwahati – Sualkuchi – Hajo
After breakfast, head towards Sualkuchi, a traditional weaving centre famous for Assam silk and handloom craftsmanship. Observe local weaving traditions and learn about the region’s textile heritage. Continue to Hajo, a historic pilgrimage town associated with different faiths and home to important temples and religious sites. Return to Guwahati for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Guwahati – Tezpur
Leave Guwahati after breakfast and travel towards Tezpur, a historic town on the banks of the Brahmaputra. After arrival, explore selected landmarks such as Agnigarh, Cole Park and heritage sites associated with the town’s cultural past. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful riverside atmosphere. Overnight stay in Tezpur.
Day 4: Tezpur – Majuli
Today, proceed towards Majuli, the famous river island known for its distinctive Vaishnavite traditions and rural culture. Complete the road and ferry journey as per local schedules and check in to your accommodation. Later, experience the island’s quiet villages, traditional homes and natural surroundings. Overnight stay in Majuli.
Day 5: Majuli Cultural Exploration
Dedicate the day to discovering Majuli’s cultural heritage. Visit prominent Satras to learn about Assamese Neo-Vaishnavite traditions, devotional practices, performing arts and traditional craftsmanship. Explore local villages and observe pottery, mask-making or handloom traditions where accessible. The day offers a closer look at the cultural identity and everyday life of the island. Overnight stay in Majuli.
Day 6: Majuli – Jorhat
After breakfast, leave Majuli by ferry and continue towards Jorhat. Explore the region’s tea heritage with a visit to a tea garden or estate, subject to access and operating schedules. Learn about Assam’s connection with tea cultivation while enjoying the green plantation landscapes. Later, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Jorhat.
Day 7: Jorhat – Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Jorhat Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. The tour concludes with memorable experiences of Assam’s ancient temples, silk-weaving traditions, river-island culture, historic Satras and celebrated tea heritage.
